The University of South Wales is widely regarded as a pivotal institution in both the academic and cultural landscape of Wales due to its long and illustrious history, which spans three centuries. The establishment of the university in 1893 was seen both politically and socially as one of the most momentous events that took place in the nineteenth century. The International Welcome Programme is a series of entertaining events, games, and information sessions that are held to assist incoming students in adjusting to their new environment and making new friends. Please fill out this form to register right away.

  • The Times Higher Education – University Ranking has placed the University of South Wales at position 1001 or higher for both 2020 and 2021. 
  • Additionally, The Complete University Guide – University Ranking has placed the University of South Wales in position 102 for the year 2021.
    As part of its rating methodology, Times Higher Education (THE) gives Teaching, Research, and Citations the same amount of weight, at 30% each.In addition, The Guardian’s University Rankings have moved the university up to the 66th spot for 2021, up from the 98th spot it held for 2020. indicating that there has been a change for the better in the metrics that determine its ranking.

A “sandwich year” or internship is required as part of the curriculum for certain of the degrees offered by USW. Entry Requirement

The University requires the following English language qualifications for degree level and higher courses:

  • IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component or a C grade in English at the GCSE level*.
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 72 with at least 18 on reading, 17 on hearing, 20 on speaking, and 17 Passing Marks in ISE III
  • A total of 64 on the PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI, with a score of 59 in each section..

Tuition Fee

Undergraduate Fees:

  • Prices range from £9,000 to £13,500 for degrees like BA, BD, BSC, BAED, CertHE, DipHE, license, foundation, and BENG.
  • Cost of an Honours Degree £6,000 £9,000 Master’s Degree £9,000 £13,500
  • Per credit, £35 £99 for undergraduate degrees that can be completed in a part-time setting (BA, BD, BSC, BAED, CertHE, DipHE, Licence, Foundation).
  • The Inclusive Education Foundation Degree requires 80 semester hours of study (beginning with the 2019–20 school year) £1,300
  • Degree Completion Diplomas (60 credits) £2,000 £4,000
  • Bachelor of Arts in Ducere Distance Education: £6,000 for those who begin their studies by May 2019.
  • BA (Distance Learning) from Ducere: £8,900 for 2019 entrants and after. £8,900
  • BA in Sinology £8,000
  • GOT for $4,650 in Chinese studies

Post Graduate Fees:

  • Masters and Doctorates in Science and Technology, Masters of Theology, Masters of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Arts Degrees Abroad (180 credits)
  • A Master’s in Business Administration from Home, Abroad (Ducere) First Year: £11,660; Second Year: £11,660; Third Year: £7,800; All Years: £11,660.


Scholarships up to $2,000 may be available from the International Office for students responsible for their own education funding when you submit your application.  Undergraduate students may receive up to £1,500 (including remedial work. Postgraduate students may receive up to £2,000. Graduates from outside the UK who have completed an undergraduate degree at USW that required at least one year of full-time study on campus may be eligible for a Progression Fee Discount of £6,000.
