Course Information

Bachelor's degrees are your standard undergraduate degrees. They typically take three or four years to complete and may require a year in the industry.

 BSc Economics

Economics degrees will provide an excellent initial overview of economic theory and practical application.

Their course options tend to be incredibly diverse and cover a wide range of topics. Dissertation titles are extremely flexible, and there is room to study at a far higher level if desired.

Many Economics graduates will quickly move into financial analysis positions via graduate schemes. Companies will take graduates on immediately after completing their studies and train them to match their own culture.

 BSc Business

A BSc in Business (Management) can provide an excellent foundation for either studying further into the field or moving directly into a graduate position.

Undergraduate business degrees will tackle a wide range of topics, such as marketing, management, micro and macroeconomics, and even some form of politics/international relations.

Many Business students will opt to study a foreign language alongside, forming what is sometimes known as an MLBM (Modern Language Business Management) degree. In these, students will typically study 60 credits of business per year, 20 credits of language classes, and a further 20 credits of culture-based courses relevant to their language of choice.

Almost all universities in the UK offer some degree – but with such a saturated market where you study, that degree can be an essential factor. Some universities, such as Manchester’s Alliance Business School, now have complete faculties and campuses dedicated to the subject.

 BSc Computer Science

 BSc Computer Science

It is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after degrees in Computer Science, with the world moving towards yet another technological boom.

Computer Science, colloquially referred to as ‘CompSci’ (comp-see) by UK natives, is the study of everything to do with computers – though, more often than not, courses will primarily be based around practical programming skills in languages such as Python, C#, and Java.

The most illustrious courses, of course, come from the likes of Cambridge and Oxford. However, many other universities are seeing the gap in the market and beginning to offer more places for computer science. Be aware, though, that the job market largely depends on the reputation of where you studied for your degree.

Many CompSci graduates from respected universities will typically enter a postgraduate tech job, such as the current demand.
