Founded in 1862, the Plymouth School of Navigation is the oldest maritime school in the country. Plymouth College of Technology was renamed the School of Navigation in 1962 and granted polytechnic status in 1970. The University of Plymouth was created in 1992 after Plymouth Polytechnic obtained university status.

In 2012, Plymouth was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for marine and maritime education and research, and 11 subjects were rated among the top ten in the UK for student satisfaction. Additionally, the city is ranked 11th in the UK for the most cost-effective places to study. Each year, over 12,000 Plymouth students benefit from placements and work-based learning.

The university has strong partnerships with other universities and institutions in the southwest, and is the only post-1992 university to have its own medical school. Recently, several departments have been developed, including the library and student union, the faculties of Health and Education and Society, and Marine Science. Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Geography, and Environmental Science, and Art and Design at the University of Plymouth also rank highly nationally.

Plymouth University is ranked #541 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the best international universities. Plymouth University is ranked in the 601–650 range in the QS World University Rankings for 2022. The University of Plymouth is ranked #41 by The Guardian in 2022 and #69 by The Complete Guide.

The University of Plymouth’s student union is located there as well. The City Center Campus is conveniently located near the Marine Station, which can be reached on foot. The School of Medicine is housed at the North Plymouth campus. Those interested in pursuing careers in dietetics, occupational therapy, operating department practice, physiotherapy, or podiatry can do so at this school.

The University of Plymouth offers both undergraduate and graduate level programs to students from other countries. There are 2,000 students at the university, and they come from more than 100 different countries. Foreign students can stay on campus at Plymouth University. The selection of available venues is impressive. These dorms are run by the university and offer students a welcoming and secure living space. Activities aimed at bringing people together through the formation of new groups are planned in these venues. Students have access to security that is on-site at all times. You can find these dorms anywhere on campus or in the Student Village. Alternately, students can seek out lodging in the private sector.

There are a number of international student scholarships at the University of Plymouth. Students should check the eligibility requirements of each scholarship they apply for, as some are awarded automatically while others require additional work. Scholarships such as the School of Psychology’s International Postgraduate Platinum Scholarship, the GREAT Scholarships, the Postgraduate Taught Student Scholarship, and the Undergraduate International Student Scholarship are awarded to outstanding students.

Services for International Students

As part of the International Student Advice Service, orientation programmes are offered at the beginning of the year, as well as a meet and greet service from Heathrow Airport. In addition to general information about the area and British culture, orientation covers the campus and departments. Students can meet with native speakers in an informal setting at the School of Tourism’s Languages Café every week.

International students can enrol in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Plymouth. Over 2000 international students from over 100 countries attend the university. Accommodations are available to international students at Plymouth University. You can choose from a variety of halls here. The residence halls are managed by the university and provide students with a safe and friendly environment

Students can choose from a variety of halls that provide a safe and friendly environment.As a student, your accommodation licence will be with the University, and you will be provided with on-campus accommodation facilities by UPP, one of the leading providers of on-campus residential and academic accommodation in the UK.Their responsibility is to provide and maintain the buildings, while the University’s is to provide support to you, including social events and welfare services. Both University facilities and the city centre are only a few minutes’ walk from their Halls, located either on campus or within the nearby Student Village.
If you want to live in one of the University’s dorms, you’ll need to sign a license agreement. Their friendly staff is here to help you every step of the way, from booking to after your stay, with any questions or concerns you may have. Their Halls Team is here to help you whenever you need it, any day of the week. You can rest assured that all of your needs will be met without a hitch thanks to the team’s established relationships with other student services and departments at the University. In addition, They host a series of events called “Residence Life,” which consists of contests, activities, and trips only open to residents. You can also get to know your future roommates and keep up with social events through their resident-specific Facebook groups and other forms of social media.

The main campus of the University of Plymouth, also known as the City Centre campus, is home to the Schools of Arts, Humanities, and Business, Science and Engineering, and Health. The University of Plymouth Students’ Union is also located here. The City Center campus can also be walked to the Marine Station. The Faculty of Health uses the North Plymouth campus. Among the courses offered here are Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Physiotherapy, or Podiatry.

Entry Requirement

University of Plymouth and University of Plymouth International College (UPIC) have approved and accepted the following Secure English Language Tests (SELTs). Tuition Fee

As in many other universities in the United Kingdom, the academic year is divided into semesters. The cost of a bachelor’s degree is around 15,000 USD per year. For those interested in obtaining a master’s degree here, you should prepare to spend at least 9,000 USD per year. The university also offers scholarship programs that can dramatically reduce the cost of tuition for students.

The answer to this question depends on the type of visa you have, but many international students work part-time jobs while they study. Please visit their working in the UK page for further details.

In order to enroll at the University of Plymouth as an international student, you will likely need a Student (previously Tier 4) visa. See the Visas and Immigration page for more details.I was wondering if you provided a pick-up service from the airport.

Every September, they pick up incoming international students from Heathrow Airport. Once they  extend an offer to you, we’ll send along additional details.

Plymouth’s cost of living may be significantly lower than the UKVI’s minimum requirement of £1,015 per month of study for expenses outside of London (depending on your lifestyle). The UKCISA website has additional resources on budgeting and living expenses.

More than 160 student organizations call the Students’ Union home. The most up-to-date listing is available on the UPSU website.

Once you arrive, they will gladly tell you where to find these. Their international food booklet also lists the international grocery stores and restaurants in the Plymouth area.

On campus, they have a chaplaincy that serves people of many different faiths. They are there to help people of all faiths and no faiths, and they can also point you in the direction of local worship centers in Plymouth.

If you’re an incoming first-year undergraduate student and Plymouth is your top choice, you’re guaranteed a halls spot if you apply by June 16th, 2022 (University-managed halls or halls from accredited private providers).
