About

The University of Gloucestershire is located in the southwest of the UK across three campuses. A couple of them are located in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester. Students can travel by train to major cities such as Birmingham (40 minutes), Bristol (40 minutes), and London (two hours) within a few hours. For students starting their studies in the UK, Gloucestershire offers excellent access to the rest of the country by road and rail.

Approximately 10,000 students from 60 countries make up the vibrant and connected community. At the University of Gloucestershire, more than 100 courses offer a high-quality education based on leading research. Gloucestershire also offers over 80 sports clubs and societies for students.

It is divided into eight distinct schools: the School of Art and Design, the School of Business and Technology, the School of Education, the School of Health and Social Care, the School of Liberal and Performing Arts, the School of Media, the School of Natural and Social Sciences, and the School of Sport and Exercise. Besides teaching, schools also have responsibilities for conducting research and directing commercial activities. The University offers over 80 undergraduate courses, 57 postgraduate courses, and Ph.D. degrees. It is a diverse, vibrant community with more than 12,000 students and 1,500 employees.

Among the undergraduate courses are Accounting and Law, Computing, Journalism, Business Management, Fine Arts, Humanities, Geography, Biology, Social Science, Education, and Sports, while the post-graduate programs include Accounting and Law, Business and Management, IT and Multimedia, Health and Social Care, Education, Humanities, Leisure, Media, Art and Design, Natural and Social Sciences, as well as Sports and Exercise. For undergraduate students, a variety of financial support packages are available, including Care Leavers Scholarships, Music Scholarships, Partnership Bursaries, Sports Excellence Funds, Financial Assistance Funds, and Emergency Short-Term Loans. The university also offers scholarships for unique sports supported by the Rugby Football Union, Football Association, England Netball, and English Cricket Board.

During their first year, undergraduates are provided with the right kind of support to develop a personal career plan, which is called the ‘Your Future Plan’ program at the university. Each campus has a HelpZone dedicated to student support where students can get advice, support, or assistance for any issues they may be facing. Student services for international students

International students receive comprehensive and relevant advice from the Student Services Team. On each campus, there is a Helpzone where students can receive support and assistance. Students can take advantage of the services of an International Student Advisor in order to have a successful and enjoyable time while studying abroad. The International Welcome Week provides all the information and support students need before starting their courses, and throughout the year, international students can enjoy a variety of trips, parties, and social events.

Approximately 46 percent of the university’s total REF submission was rated three or four stars, and 71% in the top two bands for Art and Design, and 71% in Sport and Exercise.Art and Design received 78% of world-leading or internationally excellent grades in the REF, whereas Sport and Exercise attained 70%.

Gloucestershire University provides excellent student housing with all the necessary safety and security. Students at Gloucestershire University have access to excellent student housing that is safe and secure. A total of £38million has been invested in the university’s housing systems, including Pittville Student Village with its bar, gym, and outdoor sports fields. Additional 600 rooms here also include en-suite apartments for students. Due to the abundance of housing options, you will have the opportunity to live comfortably and socialize with other people.

Discipline

Entry Requirement

For an undergraduate Honours degree, entry requirements vary from course to course but typically range from 96 to 136 UCAS Tariff Points The degree will be awarded in 2022/23*. UK applicants are also usually required to meet the following requirements, in addition to the specific course UCAS Tariff requirements:

  • GCSEs in English and mathematics (or equivalent) with a grade of 4 or C
  • Some courses also require Grade 4/C or above in science
  • A minimum of two A levels (or equivalent) or at least one foundation degree

The admissions process for some courses (especially in creative subjects) relies more on interviews than UCAS Tariff points. After applying for such a course, the University of Gloucestershire will invite applicants for an interview.
